To achieve its mission, the Water Resources Center (WRC) takes a hands-on, applied scholarship approach in its work. The WRC identifies high-leverage challenges and opportunities, and weaves together in a interdisciplinary, holistic way, Auburn’s scientific,  educational, and outreach expertise to address water use, water quality, and water supply issues in Alabama, the Southeast, and around the globe.

This network of expertise includes disciplines, departments, and schools across the university and represents decades of experience in research, instruction, outreach, and public service.  Auburn’s expertise is applied and enhanced through collaborative efforts with other colleges and universities, with government, business, non-governmental organizations, civic groups, and individuals.

The Water Resources Center is an advocate for clean water and healthy ecosystems, as well as equitable and sustainable use of this crucial natural resource.
